I was wrongfully locked out of my Snapchat account. I had my account since 2013 with no issues, then suddenly it’s gone. I’ve seen horrible things on this app, but I got deleted. They won’t accept an appeal from me and they won’t let me download my data everytime I try. Pictures of dead relatives I can’t have now. Don’t waste your time or money for a shady company like Snapchat. UPDATE I got to finally download my data after a month or two but they only gave me a years worth of data instead of the lifetime like I’ve requested TEN TIMES!! This app promotes unsafe content to minors and sexual content 24-7. No different than KIK.

Does not load on iPhone SE3. Period Constantly freezing and crashing, lenses not working, chats not sending, requests not sending or approving, and the amount of ads in your face that look like normal UI input is absolutely egregious. Not to mention they literally sell pron-ography in basically their version of Instagram Reels, acting as a competitor to Onlyfans and Fansly in that market. These ads reach everyone. Great app for pedophiles to run rampant without punishment! This app is also just a cash grab at this point. Snapchat+ was a ridiculous addition, but easy to ignore since it doesn't take away any features. Now Snapchat wants to make people pay to have more than 5GB of memories stored? It's like they're begging people to stop using their app. So many bad decisions that weren't made with the users in mind, but rather how much money could be squeezed out of their pockets. Really gross

Not paying for my own memories

We already deal with the crazy useless ads (often overly NSFW) which is so disturbing since there’s children on the app. We’ve given you a decade of support and you guys are so money hungry!!!! I’ll be one of the ones deleting if you go through with this new update. I’ll change my review when you guys gain some sense.

Snapchat has been a declining social media platform ever since 2021 because all of the pedophilic users and groomings that would happen on the app. And now they are getting rid of people’s memories from literally a decade ago. This is not okay how they are trying to earn money from the smallest things. I will just end up deleting my account since I will no longer have use for the app.

privacy violations on a basic human level. it will tell my friends i’m active or “typing” when i’m neither. the glitches on this app are insane and they have caused so many embarrassing experiences. at the age of nine i was being sexually harassed by old men on here and i didn’t even realize it. the app just got worse every year as they added more features but still refused to regulate the textbook bullying going on every day. i would see people post and send literal p*rn and it wouldn’t be moderated no matter how many reports i would send in. this app is so un-user friendly; you can’t even search through messages, among many other things, which every other popular messaging app allows. meanwhile you aren’t allowed to turn off my AI, which is ultimately why i deleted the app.

Not sure if you’re aware but the entire point of your app is the memories. You say it’s expensive to store our data, then cut the funding for snapchat ai and reels. none of your users use them. literally the only reason your app has been used if for the memories. you already created a platform that exposed minors to online explicit activity that you never addressed, don’t dig your grave deeper.

Horrible and Unsafe

i’ve had the app for years. thousands of memories. which have been nice when losing phone or being unable to recover any photos from past phones. it’s been free. now are saying that they will be deleting all memories and pictures above 5GB of storage unless you pay for more. ranging from $2-16$. many people only have snapchat for their memories. otherwise, nobody will be using this app due to it’s extremely unsafe platform full of predators due to the fact they don’t identify people before letting them make an account and before allowing them to communicate with minors. none of it is monitored.
